RePets Animal Rescue
For every 1 person born there are 15 cats and 10 dogs born.
There are not enough homes for them all, please help us stop the suffering.

Surrendering your pet

Before you surrender your pet please consider the following:

Keep your pet and work on problem behaviors. If you are giving your dog up due to behavior problems, consider contacting the Training Center for a consultation. Most behavior problems can be significantly reduced or eliminated with professional help.

If You Have Allergies: Allergies are mostly caused by animal dander, not their fur! To help keep dander to a minimum, bathe and brush your pet often. Vacuum your home and furniture throughly, wash bedding, counters etc. often. Nutritional supplements are also available to help with skin and coat problems in pets. Consult with your veterinarian for additional recommendations.

Try to Find a New Home For Your Pet: Ask friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, or your veterinarian if they might provide a new home for your pet. Be sure to carefully screen potential owners and consider charging a reasonable fee rather than offering your pet "free to a good home". Also consider contacting a Breed Rescue Group if you own a purebred. Be sure to inspect and screen the Breed Rescue group to ensure the best care will be given to your pet.

At the time of your surrender, please bring the following with you:

Copy of Vaccination records, Medical History including heartworm preventative schedule and and special needs this animal may have.
a list of this animal routines, tricks, likes/dislikes and anything we need to know to help this pet get adopted.
If you are not the owner, a signed letter from the owner giving you permission to surrender the dog(s) is required.
Any items, such as dog bed, toys, etc. that will ease the transition.
Surrender donation, which assists us with the care and medical needs of your pet. We appreciate any amount to help find your animal the best possible home. We ask a minimum $50 surrender donation, but encourage larger contributions as the cost for caring and vetting your animals can be over $200

We cannot accept any dangerous animals. We will do our best to find your pet a new home. However, in every animal shelter/rescue, there is little space and too many animals looking for a new home, therefore we can not take every animal that is asked of us.

Due to the loss of our adoption house, we are very limited to the animals we can take in. HOWEVER, we do have several rescue friends and many people looking to adopt thru us. We have a few options to help you.

We can place your animal in a foster home till adoption. (Depending on availability)
We can help you locate another rescue that can take your animals
You can keep your animal at your home and we can list this animal on our Petfinder website till adoption.

If you are looking for our help we will need you to submit pictures of your animal. Email Pictures to: RePetsTracy@aol.com

GOOD pictures help get your animal adopted and in to rescue. Please take the time and effort to get a:

GOOD close up face picture
GOOD standing close up body shot preferably looking at the camera

GOOD personality shot preferably looking at the camera

So that we have all the information we need about your animal, please submit this information. Please know IF we cant take your animal, we will forward this to other rescues/shelters that we trust and think can help your situation.
