Sometimes a cat will try to file its claws on furniture or while playing may accidently scratch a human. Cats use their claws to defend themselves, catch mice, and sometimes when playing. Kittens dont realize the power they have in their paws and may scratch or climb on your children when they play. If your dog tries to attack or play with your new kitty, and the cat finds it offensive, there is a risk that the cat could scratch an eye or another part of your dogs body.
